Life Fitness is seeking a hands-on Sr. Manager to lead a team of Server and Workplace Engineers, responsible for managing Oracle and Microsoft cloud environments, Microsoft 365 and licensing, on-premises hardware, virtual servers, enterprise backups, and more. The ideal candidate will be an engaged leader who actively contributes to daily tasks while also driving tactical and strategic changes in response to evolving business needs and emerging technologies. Additionally, they will also seamlessly partner with Security personnel to ensure a security-first posture.
**this is a hybrid position based out of our Global HQ in Rosemont, IL - M/F remote and T-Th are in-office collaboration days** #LI-Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
- Lead team members through projects which include architecture, security, infrastructure, and application assets, to design and implement platforms and tools.
- Partner with other Life Fitness and partner teams to design, educate, and implement automation solutions for server, network, storage, middleware, database and security.
- Provide subject matter expertise within multi-functional / multi-business unit project teams.
- Analyze current monitoring systems effectiveness and create action plans to improve or expand visibility into the system or application performance.
- Assume the role of lead technical architect in the design of new operations and applications infrastructure.
- Design process constraints, controls, and documentation to ensure team compliance of audit requirements and qualifications.
- Articulate the need for scalability and understand the importance of improving quality through testing.
- Engage in vendor relationship management, as required in substantial project efforts and Managed Services (ManS) engagements.
- Design capacity and performance management analysis.
- Author Disaster Recovery (DR) tests and portions of enterprise business continuity plans.
- Perform as a project manager, leading temporary teams of diverse skillsets.
- Develop and maintain Azure and OCI cloud billing and usage reporting mechanisms.
QualificationsEducation & Experience:
- B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience required.
- Microsoft Azure Administrator certification preferred.
- OCI Architect Certification preferred.
Job Knowledge/Experience Required:
- 4-5 years of experience defining and managing IT Operations.
- 4-5 years of direct supervisory experience, managing teams of people.
- Experience in coaching, performance improvement, and talent management.
- Experience in individual contributor career planning and development; construct plans for team members and empowering them for self-growth.
- 2-3 years architecting and managing enterprise cloud infrastructure environments, such as Azure, AWS, and Oracle (OCI).
- Demonstrable experience working within defined security constraints and integrating security standards into team culture.
Job Knowledge/Experience Preferred:
- General understanding of web services
- General understanding of database administration techniques and technologies, specifically with MS SQL & Oracle.
- Deep competency in virtualization, cloud infrastructure technologies, and networking.
- Intermediate skill in scripting with PowerShell.
- Knowledge of Software Development Methodologies
- Experience with API integrations

- Creative in approach to combinations of skills and tools, in order to provide automation solutions.
- The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 5%, for Life Fitness site-support, or for education.
- Ability to support production systems for emergency support, and for systems maintenance required to be performed outside of business hours.

At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay and a range of valuable benefits. The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $142,000.00 - $175,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Rosemont, IL and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
