This role will lead marketing event strategy and aspects of planning and successful execution for our business. This position focuses on delivering the Labcorp brand experience through impactful, external-facing events that include in-person and virtual brand activations, industry tradeshows, conferences, and symposia that increase brand reputation and awareness, lead generation and establish Labcorp as a thought leader. The role will be part of a cross-functional team that works closely with external partners, internal stakeholders, and teammates to develop and execute exceptional corporate hospitality, meetings, trade shows, conferences and proprietary events. This role will lead a team of global direct reports.
This position is remote within the United States.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with marketing and sales leadership and cross- functional teams to identify opportunities for brand activations and sponsorships within the life sciences industry

Drive stakeholder conversations to gain alignment
-
Oversee day-to-day operations and master calendar for one or more business segments; recommend process improvement initiatives
-
Design event experiences based on strategic marketing objectives and KPIs
-
Lead team in a fast-paced environment; developing staff plans and managing processes
-
Bring innovative thinking and executional expertise to each program
-
Demonstrate creative thinking and lead concepting and brainstorming sessions as part of overall program development
-
Liaise with various internal functions (finance, creative, HR, executive team, etc.) as required for program management

Develop and author key deliverables including event overviews, post event recaps, case studies, and recommendations

Oversee, and at times manage, all aspects of event planning, including, but not limited to:

Liaise with trade show organizers

Interface with venues and suppliers

Manage all aspects of event logistics

Recommend tactics to support goals, measure and report on KPIs

Run of show development, programming and scheduling
-
Budget development, management, and reconciliation
-
Development of onsite staffing plan

Virtual team management

Manage and mentor full-time staff

Manage teams of varying size in a matrix environment
Requirements:
-
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in similar role
-
10+ years of direct experience in event management, meeting planning and/or exhibiting at trade shows
-
3+ years managing direct reports or 5+ years managing in a matrix environment
-
Vast knowledge of, and experience in, corporate hospitality, trade shows, conferences, meetings and events; able to both negotiate and manage suppliers, including F&B, creative, signage, audio visual, transportation, etc.

Experience curating large scale events

Ability to craft and present high-level event concepts to senior leaders
-
Strong contract negotiation and event management skills
-
Experience developing, managing, and reconciling event budgets and finances; fiscally responsible with success overseeing large budgets and costs in detail

Analytical thinker, self-motivated, organized, adaptable to a changing environment
-
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision while managing different stakeholders

Demonstrate resourcefulness, decision-making and problem-solving skills
-
Strong commitment to quality work product

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, at all levels of an organization, internally and externally

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, virtual team environment

Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends as required (travel expected to be up to 25% annually)
Preferred Requirements:

Proven track record of strong leadership experience, including managing and mentoring direct reports, as well as leading teams in a matrix environment

Experience in planning events in EU, UK and APAC
-
Certified Meeting Professional and/or Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certification

Pay Range $110,000 - $130,000 annually + bonus eligibility (see below).
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
LBP Eligible Positions: The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
