What can you expect in a Senior Manager of Data Engineering role with TaskUs: As a Senior Manager of Data Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of data engineers in the design, development, and management of end-to-end Data Warehousing solutions. Your role will involve strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of data infrastructure, pipelines, and ETL processes in a cloud-based environment. You will collaborate with internal and external teams, leveraging your expertise to address business challenges and drive positive change.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Architect and oversee the implementation of robust data pipeline solutions for ingesting, curating, and transforming data from diverse sources into the business intelligence environment.
• Develop and implement environment configuration and policies, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
• Infrastructure Planning and Optimization: Conduct infrastructure capacity planning, process redesign, and re-engineering of complex integration solutions. Continuously monitor solutions, optimizing for efficiency and cost savings.
• Manage high availability integration and ETL jobs, collaborating with the team to troubleshoot issues and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Continuously assess emerging technologies in the data engineering space, evaluating their value and impact on the business and existing architecture.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to address business issues, leveraging strategic, industry, and analytical skills to influence positive change.
• Develop intellectual property involving analytical methodologies, mathematical modeling, or optimization techniques, applying them to business challenges.
• Translate business challenges into specific requirements, leading the team in developing innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications: 

• Strong knowledge of Python, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS S3, Pentaho Data Integration, DBT, and Airflow.
• 6 to 7 years of broad information technology experience.
• 4 to 6 years of hands-on development experience using ETL tools such as Pentaho, SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, or Airflow.
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, traditional and MPP database designs, and data modeling.
• Experience with MPP Databases such as Teradata, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• 3 years development experience using Cloud-based analytics solutions, preferably AWS or GCP.
• Experience in designing and implementing streaming pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Managed Workload for Apache Airflow (MWAA).
• 3 to 4 years of experience using Python in a cloud-based environment (NoSQL DB knowledge is a plus).
• Knowledge of Database Tuning and ETL tuning.
• Ability to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.
• Structured thinker and effective communicator.

Education / Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (MBA or MS degree is a plus) or 8-10 years of relevant experience.
