Location 

Our Senior HR Business Partner is an integral part of our team at WillowTree. To help retain our deep culture of collaboration, this role will maintain an in-office presence in a hybrid capacity. Ideally, you will be based in our Columbus, OH office or Durham, NC office. 

Secondarily, we are willing to consider candidates desiring to be based in our Charlottesville, VA office or Boston, MA office.

Responsibilities 

  • Providing HR policy guidance to managers and team members in the business unit
  • Building strong relationships with executive stakeholders and leaders to drive business unit and firm-wide HR initiatives forward
  • Developing positive relationships with all team members within the business unit as a knowledgeable and trusted HR advisor
  • Providing performance management guidance and coaching to business unit executives and managers  
  • Facilitating team members' establishing and meeting performance development goals
  • Guiding managers through difficult conversations, including disciplinary actions and performance development plans 
  • Analyzing HR trends and metrics to recommend solutions within the business unit and firmwide programs and policies to enhance organizational effectiveness, retention, and employee satisfaction. 
  • Resolving complex employee relations issues and grievances including guiding mediation
  • Conducting thorough and objective investigations including, discrimination, harassment, policy violation, and misconduct 
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding and knowledge of local, state, and federal labor and employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Identifying training needs for teams and individuals and partners with the HR and Learning & Development teams to develop and implement training programs, materials, and presentations
  • Providing guidance to the business unit on workforce and succession planning, restructures, compensation, retention, and strategic growth

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with many different aspects of Human Resources - from performance management and employment law to employee relations and benefits administration
  • 5+ years of experience in an HRBP or HR Generalist role in a large international firm within the technology industry
  • Exceptional knowledge of local, state, and federal labor and employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent listening and negotiation skills paired with proven experience building rapport across a business
  • Experience and high-level proficiency working with Workday HRIS and ability to learn and adapt to new tooling quickly.
  • You’re passionate about diversity, equity, and  inclusion and always looking for ways to make people feel heard

  • You don’t shy away from difficult conversations — you’re comfortable giving and receiving feedback to help team members go beyond their full potential

Bonus Points

  • Involved in a merger and/or acquisition in the past
  • Understanding of the basics of coding as it applies to systems such as Excel and/or Google Data Studio
  • Workday migration experience
  • You have your PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
  • Fluency in the digital product industry
