The role will support the Group Technology Strategy and will provide oversight, budget management and analysis on the financial operations of cloud usage and software spend to ensure cost-efficiency and financial transparency within Manulife's cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Financial Cost Management:
- Supports in reporting spending compared to the budget/forecast
- Generates reports to enable budget analysis and inform the business about deviations from budgets, escalating major risks and identify opportunities to help risk mitigation.
- Provides executive level reporting to leadership on overall spend and breakdown for different areas, as well as communicates on the forecast and budget impact on the quarterly basis.
Fin Operations:
- Supports in the financial management for all cloud expenses that are charged to organization’s cost centers.
- Conducts cost forecasting to establish an annual budget plan for each organizational entity, incorporating the cloud expenditure data supplied by the Financial Operations Analyst; makes necessary adjustments based on cloud expense data.
- Works closely with FinOps analyst in cloud operations pod for billing, invoicing, reconciliation and overall cloud spend reporting.
- Partners with the business and the Financial Operations Analyst, in aligning the cloud objectives with the organization’s financial goals.
- Leverages reporting capability to develop cloud spend/forecast reports.
Software Cost Optimization:
- Support in the consolidation of total IT Software budget (All segment spend for software).
- Working with segment leads, identifying risks and opportunities to help achieve 3 year $50M software optimization target.
- Maintaining reporting and creating executive level reporting on progress.
Qualifications
- Can work in the midsfhift schedule from 3PM-12AM PH
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or information systems.
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis and/or financial management, understands cost control
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling and analysis
- Strong verbal and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
- Strong understanding of cost management and analysis using Finance data
- Strategic thinking with surgical execution
- Drives excellent performance through continuous improvement, simplification, and a data driven approach to end-to-end processes
- Familiarity with public cloud/datacenter providers (Azure, AWS, Kyndryl) is nice to have
- Should be comfortable with data analytics and its tools such as Powerbi, Power Apps and advanced excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. High curiosity and ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
- Execution-oriented with strong focus to deliver targeted outcomes.
- Experience working across multiple geographies and time zones. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures.
- Outstanding communication and active listening skills, with a strong ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels within the organization.
- Highly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi stakeholder environment and manage multiple priorities.
