Role
Octus provides breaking news and market-moving intelligence along with cutting-edge technology and data for hedge funds, investment banks and law firms. We are changing the way that professionals access opaque and complex information, and we are always looking for bright minds to join us on that mission. Reporting to the Vice President - FP&A, you’ll have the opportunity to join a dynamic and impactful finance and accounting department that has responsibility for strategizing and tracking Octus’s financial goals and metrics. This position offers growth potential in a unique role in which you will interact with all areas of the business including the CEO and board of directors.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the expense planning and reporting process across the company
- Support the FP&A team as the power user in the implementation of a cloud-based financial planning and analysis expense solution
- Support recurring revenue database and related reporting
- Analyze actual results in comparison with forecasts and budgets
- Develop financial models to support business decisions
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather insights, support decision-making, and drive financial best practices across the organization
- Assist in the company’s annual budgeting cycle and ongoing forecasting process
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of internal FP&A experience or 2+ years of investment banking experience
- Ability to work and think independently, but also a team player with strong communication skills
- Expert in Excel, in regard to financial analysis as well as data manipulation
- Ability to identify problems/issues, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and implications
- Natural curiosity, not afraid to ask questions and challenge status quo
- Experience with Financial Planning and Analysis solution (e.g. Planful) or Business Intelligence/Data Analytics tools (e.g. Sigma), a definite plus
- Experience in the SaaS industry, a plus
At Octus, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.
The base salary range estimate for this position is $90,000-$115,000.
The actual compensation will be at Octus’ sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for additional commission-based compensation.
