Purpose of Job:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance supports the execution of the plan, forecast, and financial reporting across the business. This role specializes in direct sales support, operating expense reporting and analytics and business initiative evaluation. This role is a member of the Commercial Finance team, reporting to the Manager, Commercial Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the financial management of IB’s shipment P&L, accounting for ~$1.5B in revenue, ~$200+M in Gross Profit and ~$80M in operating expenses.
- Provide reporting and financial support of sales channel P&L's and operating expenses within the Commercial team, including people costs and all discretionary spend;
- Directly partner with sales channel teams to manage P&L expectations to plan and forecasts
- Contribute to the financial planning cycle including collection, consolidation, preparation, and maintenance of data, models, and schedules related to the planning cycle
- Contribute to the annual process for budgeting and quarterly forecasting of sales revenues and expenses; ensure a detailed level of accuracy; partner with Finance leadership to ensure alignment across targets
- Work to identify key risks and opportunities to plan and/or forecasts; Collaborate closely with the sales teams to close any gaps that may arise throughout the year
- Partner with sales and marketing teams as required to provide business support and analyze profitability of business initiatives
- Provide timely and accurate periodic reporting of actual performance versus planned/forecast expectations and prior year performance for sales.
- Support the evaluation and analysis of specific sales initiatives
- Provide any ad-hoc analysis required by Finance leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Finance, Accounting, or Economics required
- 2+ years of professional finance experience preferred
- Collaborative approach with internal customers and partners
- Strong communication skills
- Developing analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently but also capable of working in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, telephone, verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the utilization of MS products (Excel, Word, PPT, and Outlook); Experience with SAP is desirable
- Experience with Tableau and Alteryx and working with large data sets is desirable
