The Creator and AFOL Technology department is responsible for delivering a broad set of experiences and tools supporting both our internal product design processes as well as our consumer facing experiences for adult fans of LEGO (AFOLs). In this role you will be working with and supporting our product teams on BrickLink. Here we are on a journey of modernizing the foundation of the site to support an ambitious growth journey. You will collaborate with multiple business stakeholders, product managers, designers and leaders to support value creation, quality and flow on those teams.
Responsibilities

  • Be part of the Creator and AFOL Technology leadership team and in shaping the culture of a newly formed department.

  • Be the competency leader for a group of software engineers working on the BrickLink web portal.

  • Participate in the leadership group supporting the digital ambitions of the BrickLink business.

  • Organize and run your HR team by enacting leadership activities to foster a motivated, brave and curios engineering capability group with focus on craftmanship and strong performance.

  • Recruit engineering talent and support their continued development through mentoring and coaching.

  • Set the technical direction within your area and ensure its adoption in your engineering teams and among relevant stakeholders.

  • Support a “product culture” mindset by matching people and their skills to product teams.

  • Create a structure for and secure execution of knowledge sharing and interest groups.

  • Foster a collaborative environment for our product teams enabling them to release their potential.

Requirements

  • Significant production level experience from a software engineering organisation.

  • Understanding of agile methodologies and experience working with or on agile development teams 

  • Great communication, leadership and coaching skills

  • Solid stakeholder management competencies

  • Understanding of security aspects of web based solutions.

  • Delivery focused mindset.

Nice to have

  • Experience working as people or team lead in the digital space is a plus. Alternatively, with prior experience working with software product development as a product owner, tech lead or similar.

  • Value efficient and agile product implementation over process heavy project execution

  • Experience with at least one modern, object-oriented programming language, like C#

  • Experience working with cloud platforms
