Senior Embedded Software Developer
Ramboll RST (Road Survey Technology) specialises in developing and building cutting-edge measurement vehicles for collecting data on roads to capture surface properties and point clouds among others. We are currently looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Embedded Software Developer to join our expanding software and systems team. You will work in close collaboration with our colleagues in the workshop designing and building system solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions
- Collaborate closely with the software team and its users to modernise our software system, implementing new features and improving existing functionalities
- Provide support for software maintenance and bug fixes to ensure reliability and stability
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the software team
Qualifications:
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proficiency in real-time embedded platform and distributed systems using C and/or C++
- 5+ years of experience in hardware communication and network protocols
- Strong understanding of GNU/Linux development environment
- Knowledge of mathematics and understanding of basic mechanics and electronics principles will be an advantage
- Structured, detail-oriented, and disciplined approach to work
- Experience in agile methodologies and work in cross-functional teams
As our new developer you will be part of the Digital Product Engineering (DPE) Team which is our inhouse centre for automation and development of digital tools and products. Our mission is to digitalise and automate our engineering processes, freeing and enabling our engineers and consultants to focus even more on bringing value and sustainable solutions to our clients. We focus on the areas of Automation, Web Development, Computational Design, Software as a Service (SaaS) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), AR/VR, AI/ML etc. DPE is a subordinate of Group Digital & Innovation and co-located with Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) in Gurgaon, Chennai and Hyderabad (India).
DPE focuses on handling complex challenges in engineering, creating and feeding automated processes to our developers for creation on new tools and processes. Its teams will be solving problems with other experienced engineers globally using innovative and creative approaches on challenges not solved before. They work across disciplines and markets with a portfolio ranging from smaller automation initiatives to prestigious major projects. It’s aligned to the organisations vision and strategy in transforming Ramboll into the digital leader within the industry.
RST is a smaller unit within the scope of DPE and features a "startup" feel, meaning that we work broadly with issues and are not afraid to try new and untested ways to solve problems.
