We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Growth Marketing to join our dynamic Marketing organization within Dave & Buster’s. As the Senior Director of Growth Marketing, you will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of our across both the Dave & Buster’s and Main Event brands across various channels with a concentrated focus on growing both brand relevance and subsequent same store sales YOY. You will develop and execute strategies to acquire and retain new guests, ultimately increasing revenue and market share. The ideal candidate is a marketing expert with a deep understanding of customer acquisition and retention, as well as a proven track record of driving growth in a highly competitive market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative and best in class marketing strategies and tactical plans to grow brand relevance and consideration, driving increased same store traffic and sales.
  • Manage revenue and expense planning to ensure budget accuracy and efficiency between working and non-working budget, while closely collaborating with the Brand Marketing team and Finance. Create and manage a significant budget covering all areas of marketing. Align budget resources with prioritized marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Build and mentor a team to drive continuous growth and improvement, with subject-matter expertise across Paid Media, SEO/SEM, organic social and digital channels both inside and outside of the stores.
  • Provide strong leadership to the marketing team and other stakeholders to accomplish objectives and superior execution of marketing strategic and tactical plans. Drive a positive and inclusive culture. Provide clear direction, resources, training, development, coaching and career path discussions for the growth marketing team.
  • Effectively assess complex information to provide the best direction to the business in a highly visible, high exposure role. Monitor metrics and feedback in a fast-paced environment, and course-correct and optimize as necessary to ensure proper utilization of resources, while maximizing revenue generation.
  • Collaborate to develop and execute strategic business plans that include a balanced approach to brand and product growth, increased financial return, and a superior guest experience. Deliver on the brand promise across both short- and long-term initiatives.
  • Guide proactive and reactive earned efforts, including social media, key influencers, media/co-op partnerships and channel activation.
  • Play a key role in the Marketing Steering committee, within GM/ROD conferences/calls and within key leadership planning sessions and presentations; assist with articulating the marketing strategy in a succinct way across board presentations, committee presentations, leadership updates and planning sessions.
  • Drive the investment of marketing resources with a focus on generating the highest return on advertising spend and best use of team resources. Conduct detailed review of analytical dashboards for store performance, with a focus on paid media and digital marketing.
  • Demonstrate and leverage strong grasp and application of analytical data and use innovative tools such as digital optimization, algorithmic buying and artificial intelligence where applicable.
  • Collaborate and lead consumer research with the Brand Marketing team to gain consumer insights which are actionable, along with the Loyalty team to better understand our known customer. Leverage key visit drivers and develop plans to remove barriers to visitation, while generating increased frequency with the current guest base.
  • Work Finance and Strategy teams to develop marketing efforts for same store revenue, and new store openings/remodels, both prior to and during visits. Leverage capital attraction investments and entertainment initiatives to drive business growth, while filling gap periods with new news driven by marketing partnerships.
  • Provide oversight, guidance and success measurement of our advertising agencies.
  • Actively engage with store support center peers to develop strong and collaborative relationships that drive overall business growth and success. Provide tools to ensure growth communication strategies are executed consistently.
  • Lead the planning and execution of all growth marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with business objectives and KPIs, and collaboration across the marketing teams and Store Support Center
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new growth opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth daily/weekly, with the ability to adapt to change, pivot optimizations and champion change where needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA is desirable.
  • 10 years of experience in marketing including at least 5 years leading a marketing team.
  • 5 years of experience directly managing paid media strategies, including strategic development, media buying, measurement and optimizations.
  • Proven experience in growth marketing, with a track record of driving significant revenue growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels and tools, including paid media, SEO, SEM, social media advertising, and email marketing.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and optimize marketing strategies; strong familiarity and experience with various research tools and resources.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving measurable impact and achieving targets.
