Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the overall strategy, analysis, design, implementation, and administration of the company’s total reward programs. This role ensures that the company’s compensation and incentive structures are competitive, effectively designed to drive desired behaviors, and reward exceptional performance, while also supporting employee retention. Additionally, this role ensures full compliance with relevant laws and regulation governing compensation, benefits and related policies.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Partners with the executive team and HR leaders to assess organizational needs and deliver relevant, competitive, and effective global Total Rewards programs across the enterprise.
  • Leads the development of the company’s compensation philosophy, strategy, and infrastructure, including the creation of new compensation plans and the periodic review and update of existing plans to align with evolving organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and salary structures for all employee levels. 
  • Directs the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide benefits strategies and programs, including health and welfare, retirement, and executive benefits. Provides recommendations and develops proposals for new or enhanced programs based on organizational objectives, strategy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees the administration of various incentive plans, executive stock options, deferred compensation plans, retirement benefits, and other executive compensation programs. Evaluates the effectiveness of these programs to ensure they are financially sustainable, internally equitable, and externally competitive.
  • Leads the preparation and presentation of materials for Compensation Committee meetings with the Board of Directors. This includes preparing the Compensation Discussion and Analysis, Executive Compensation Summary, proxy tables, executive incentive plan updates, and compensation risk assessments. 
  • Prepares recommendations for the Compensation Committee regarding incentive compensation plans, equity-based programs, and adjustments to the company’s benefit offerings. Maintains ongoing communication with external consultants and coordinates the preparation and delivery of their materials.
  • Analyzes market data to assess the company’s competitive compensation position and stays informed of compensation trends to ensure our programs remain equitable and competitive. Manages projects such as survey participation, compensation integration for mergers and acquisitions, and compliance with new or changing regulations.
  • Manages communication with business units on the creation, implementation, and rollout of programs impacting those units, including benefit plan open enrollments, plan updates, and project status reports.

SCOPE & IMPACT: 

This position is directly responsible for the total rewards programs impacting nearly 10,000 employees across the organization as well as budget responsibility for annual healthcare spend ($40M+). This position must work with executive leadership to develop programs that support the corporate strategy and directly impacts the business throughout the company in its ability to recruit, develop, and retain top talent which is critical to the success of the business.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Human Resources or related field with 10+ years of relevant total rewards experience or equivalent
  • Eight (8)+ years of Supervisor/Leadership experience
  • Experience with board of director interaction and Compensation Committee partnership
  • Experience with implementation and Human Capital Management systems and other supporting systems with HR data
  • Project management experience
  • Up to 15% Travel

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Master’s Degree
  • SPHR, CCP, and/or CEBS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position may have up to four (4) direct reports and ten (10) indirect reports.
