Senior Design Engineering Manager
The Design Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end engineering and product development process from concept to production. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for cycling. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with many cross-functional teams, including design, R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance. They will be expected to coach, mentor, and grow a dynamic team of engineers to ensure the successful development and launch of exceptional and groundbreaking bikes.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Lead the engineering and product development efforts for the engineering team in Taiwan.

In conjunction with leadership, partner to develop vision and strategy for the team to drive innovation and on-time quality execution.

Responsible for thorough technical review of all Engineering work performed by your direct reports. This will include an in-depth review of their work as well as participating in technical reviews to ensure high quality work is delivered.

Oversee the professional growth and performance of the engineering team.

Collaborate closely with the design team to translate design concepts into manufacturable and high-quality products.

Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, including conceptualization, prototyping, testing, and final production.

Drive the adoption of best practices and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation throughout the engineering and product development stages.

Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure seamless transition from product design to production, optimizing manufacturing processes and resolving any technical challenges.

Manage project scopes, goals, and deliverables, developing and maintaining detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines.

Work with Project Management team to closely monitor and track project progress, identifying and mitigating any risks or obstacles to ensure on-time delivery of superior products.

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market demands to drive continuous product innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence within the engineering and product development teams.

Collaborate with senior management to align engineering and product development strategies with the company's overall goals and objectives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

10+ years of experience in engineering and product development roles, preferably within the bicycle or sporting goods industry.

5+ years in an engineering leadership/managerial role.

Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Functional expert in mechanical engineering, strong background in materials science, or related disciplines, deep understanding of bicycle design principles and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, simulation tools, and other engineering software used in product development.

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to create project plans, manage budgets, and track progress effectively.

Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving innovative solutions and resolving complex engineering challenges.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and communication across various teams and stakeholders.

Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, ensuring that products meet or exceed industry standards.
