Senior Design Associate
We are looking for a Senior Design Associate to join the Brand and Performance team within our Marketing department. In this role, the Senior Design Associate will be responsible for helping us move our brand forward with brand-consistent designs that support our digital campaigns. This individual will collaborate with our copywriters, project managers, content team, and marketing managers to translate concepts into great designs across multiple channels. The right candidate is channel agnostic — with expertise in delivering smart, strategic solutions across digital and print channels. The Senior Design Associate will be creative, innovative with strong conceptual chops, vocal about their ideas and capable of delivering strong solutions on time.
The Team: The Brand and Performance Marketing team encompasses brand strategy and experience, creative services, go-to-market content, paid media, and website strategy. Our team is entrusted with devising, producing, introducing, and refining superior go-to-market strategies from branding through to demand generation. Our ultimate goal is to successfully position athenahealth as the most admired and considered company in our category.
Job Responsibilities

Ability to create smart, strategic and visually impactful experiences across all channels. From digital marketing initiatives; (display advertising, social media, emails) to print communications (direct mail, collateral, event graphics)

Proficiency in Figma and use it to create and refine visually appealing and user-friendly designs

A strong digital profile, with experience in paid media and email marketing. Strong capability to create paid media and social advertising assets from concept to completion, including all related production aspects such as resizing and photo manipulation

Collaborative mindset across copywriters while working as a team to deliver creative solutions that drive results
-
Support the larger team as needed, recreating, reformatting, resizing materials, such as data sheets,

employee-facing communications, campaign collateral

Collaborate with a larger team of marketing specialists and project and print production managers. Source imagery, resize and retouch as needed

Consistently back-up files to graphics server, following department workflow processes and protocols
-
A passion to help propel the athenahealth forward, making sure all work represents our brand in the best way possible, for internal and external audiences alike
Typical Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design
-
3+ years of digital and web design experience
-
Experience working within an agency or on an in-house team is strongly preferred
-
A portfolio link with examples of design solutions demonstrating proficiency in designing for web, email, social media and other digital platforms.

Demonstrated expertise with Figma, adobe Creative Suite, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint.

Expertise in digital design fundamentals, layout, color and typography skills.

Motion graphic experience including After Effects, HTML5 and/or web design experience is helpful.

Experience creating ads built to IAB standard and vendor compliance for distribution with high attention to detail.

Ability to problem-solve, conceptualize, and share design solutions with the larger team. Strong communication and collaboration skills

The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, meet deadlines.

Can-do personality; flexible, open to feedback and willing to learn, a team player who is a positive and innovative thinker.

Data visualization and illustration capabilities

Experience working in a complex industry (healthcare, finance, insurance, tech) — agency or in-house — is a plus

Experience working with a variety of outside partners (such as printers, illustrators, photographers)
