The Senior Demand Planner will implement best in class forecasting methodologies and be responsible for inventory management and inventory deployment/allocation across key client programs. This role plays an integral part in the overall production planning process which requires cross collaboration with other planning departments, operations management and external clients. Responsible for using a variety of resources, systems, and assumptions to prepare and continuously update unit level forecast and supply/inventory plans. This role will interact with the complete end to end supply chain, collaborating with key customers, internal sales, and operations personnel. Develops and cultivates relationships with key clients to ensure the stability of existing business, managing all day-to-day interactions and client needs. This role will also provide financial support by developing and maintaining P&L statements in partnership with the Supply Chain, Finance, and accounting teams to drive business decisions impacting business operations.
This is an onsite role in our Irving TX facility.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Serve as the forecasting SME and interface on planning efforts and projects to meet and exceed supply needs and minimize operating costs
- Lead S&OP meetings
- Coordinate regular meetings with customer’s planning team as part of the
- S&OP process
- Leads creation and deployment of key strategies and initiatives to promote revenue growth and engagement with the existing client base
- Anticipates and/or resolves client issues with cross-functional area leaders and drives operational process efficiencies
- Utilize historical order and shipment data, current POS, inventory, device lifecycle data, and information from stakeholders and promotional activity information to develop, continuously update, and improve demand plans for existing products
- Consolidate demand plans at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time periods
- Interact with multiple departments, including, but not limited to: Sales, Operational Managers, Production, Customer Service, Finance and Logistics to optimize inventory allocation and escalate forecast changes/variances which may pose an inventory/business risk
- Measure established key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations/alternative courses of action to improve performance
- Perform financial cost analysis, activity tracking and forecast/ budget preparation
- Provide profit control KPI’s and dashboards for management review and decision making
- Understand variance analysis of key metrics and early identification of risks and opportunities
- Validation, tracking and reporting of initiatives savings, including the analysis and explanation of discrepancies
- Review and analyze substantial amounts of data and use to solve problems
- Data and report automation to drive improved and efficient profitability analysis
- Track forecast vs. actual volume to determine and minimize root causes of forecast error
- Report monthly forecast error with causal analysis and action plans to improve
- Work collaboratively with internal customers to continually improve upon demand plan
- Provide regular Intelligence Reports to Senior Leadership to provide insight into the overall aftermarket
- Develop and Maintain CPO solutions Client relationships in coordination with Account Mgt VP
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Finance, Operations Finance or Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Forecasting or Supply Chain environments
- Ability to develop and execute long-term (5+ year) plans
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, collaborating effectively at all levels
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate and assess complex issues and problems
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Excel is required (including pivot tables & vlookups, advanced macros a plus)
- Solid interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Motivated to continuously seek improvements to processes and methodologies and to work independently on large scale detail-oriented projects
- Advanced scenario and sensitivity modeling skills
- Detail oriented ability to validate, analyze and sort through a large amount of data
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Database proficiency is preferred (including creation of tables, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data)
- Knowledge and experience in SQL, Cognos Smartstream, Oracle, MS Dynamics Great Plains is preferred
- Experience and/or knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools a plus
Pay Range:
$72,900.00 - $121,900.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
