Senior Database Administrator/Engineer

Zoom is seeking a Sr. DBA/DBE with experience in managing MongoDB and MySQL primarily, and also has experience in DynamoDBs to join our world class team in managing critical and large-scale databases. You will be working with other DBAs and engineers to implement solutions for database related projects and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deploying and managing MongoDB clusters, Mongo Atlas, replica sets, shards, etc.
• Monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and backing up MongoDB.
• MongoDB Database design, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, and patching management
• Managing and support MySQL environments as well as DynamoDBs.
• Providing supports to DevOps and Service Engineers to solve customers' issues
• Develop and enforce architectural governance, database standards and best practices
• Act in incident management to resolve active incidents
• Working on projects, tickets, deployments, and releases, etc.
• Participate in team weekly on-call rotation and monthly deployment rotation
• Be available off-hour occasionally to meet and work with offshore engineers

Requirements:

• 5+ years of solid hands-on experience in managing MongoDB 6.x/5.x or above in Linux environments as well as experience in MCS, OpsManager.
• Deep understanding of MongoDB and/or NoSQL technologies, load balancing, and HA.
• Extensive hands-on experience in MySQL 5.7/8, MySQL replication, and SQL tuning.
• Solid DBA experience in all facets of DBA tasks such as database design, installation, backup/recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, patching, and upgrading in both Cloud and on-premises environments.
• Expert in RDBMS and NoSQL schema and cluster topology design.
• Good knowledge and experience with DynamoDB administration is a plus.
• Strong Scripting experience in Shell, Perl, or Python, etc. and automation tools (Ansible, chef, git, etc.)
• Forward thinking, self-motivated and a strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad scope of responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent related experience.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$98 900,00

Maximum:

$228 700,00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
