What you will be doing: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our newly established Data Platform Team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable data pipelines, and maintaining data warehouses and data lakes using modern stacks. You will integrate data from various sources, ensuring the quality and integrity of our data. Additionally, you will collaborate with data scientists, BI developers, business analysts, and citizen developers.

Currently, we are looking for someone to manage data from sensors in factories around the world as we enhance our platform to meet the growing demand for high-quality data. You should expect to work with other data platforms, tech stacks, and new initiatives coming into our team. Our company is tech-agnostic, always seeking the best tools for specific challenges.

More specifically, you will:

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes,
  • Collaborate with the data science team to support and contribute to their work,
  • Develop integrations with our integration team,
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and design data solutions,
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness,
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of data governance and security policies,
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines for high availability, scalability, and performance,
  • Monitor metrics for cost and usage of our data platforms,
  • Design and document data architectures, data models, and data flows,
  • Co-develop data architecture roadmaps,
  • Collaborate with architects and master data specialists to ensure data quality.

What you bring:

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering focused on data integration, ETL, and data warehousing,
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark,
  • Experience with data platforms like Databricks and Snowflake,
  • Strong data modeling skills,
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions on Azure,
  • Understanding of data architecture principles, designs, and solutions,
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills,
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to build something new from scratch.

 Big Advantages:

  • Experience with DBT,
  • Understanding Kafka,
  • Familiarity with data pipelines tools like Airflow and Boomi,
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases,
  • Certificates to proof your experience,
  • A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Natural Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with enterprise-level data architecture,
  • Skills in additional programming languages (e.g. Scala, C#),
  • Knowledge of BI solutions (e.g. PowerBI, Grafana),
  • Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g. Informatica),
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker,
  • Experience with SCRUM, Agile, and related tools (e.g. Jira).
