Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer, Identity and Behaviour squad, to join one of our consumer product tribes that builds and scales the digital experience enjoyed by millions of consumers across 11 brands in 70+ countries.

The Identity and Behaviour squad (part of the Customer Data Platform domain) owns a broad portfolio of models and services focused on identity resolution, customer behaviour prediction, and targeting, with the objective of increasing customer satisfaction, lifetime value and driving profitability globally, across all of Delivery Hero’s entities and markets.

Your work will have a direct impact on how we attract and retain customers, creating data-driven, personalised interactions that keep them coming back. As part of our Consumer Team, you’ll enhance customer satisfaction and drive global growth and profitability through innovative projects.

Your mission:

• You will work on building highly scalable real-time data systems and pipelines that empower and extend Delivery Hero’s global Identity Resolution System (IRS).

• To be successful, you must have the mindset of an investigator, always looking for new ways to relate customers together and establishing identity.

• Your task will include building and maintaining the workflows necessary to process the graph data produced by the system so that it is validated, curated and made ready to be leveraged by data scientists and analysts.

• You will also work on real-time data streaming and data processing for 70+ countries.

• You will also have the opportunity to contribute to system architecture designs (and reviews) during our weekly refinement meetings.

• You will be part of our agile team following SCRUM best practices.

• Review current tech-debt and provide improvements as required.

Qualifications

• Strong production grade experience with deploying and operating batch (and optimally streaming) data pipelines.

• Practical experience with designing and developing distributed systems.

• Expert knowledge of database systems, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and graph databases.

• Experience with Streaming technologies and architecture such as Flink / Spark / Beam.

• You possess solid knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS or Google Cloud Platform).

• You have passion for secure, clean and beautiful code, with an eye for simplicity and pragmatism.

Nice to have:

• Basic understanding of identity resolution techniques and best practices, such as entity matching, record linkage, and data deduplication.

• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code tools.
