A Senior Data Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive data architecture strategy for the NX organization. The architect must ensure data is efficiently stored, accessed, and analyzed by leveraging advanced data modeling techniques, cloud technologies, and data governance practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business needs and drive data-driven decision-making.

• Data Strategy and Architecture Design:
  • Define and implement a holistic data architecture vision aligned with business objectives. 
  • Design and develop complex data models for relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. 
  • Establish data governance policies and standards to maintain data quality and integrity. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to optimize data management. 

• Data Integration and Pipeline Development:
  • Design and implement data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) across various data sources. 
  • Ensure seamless integration of data from disparate systems and applications. 
  • Optimize data flow for performance and scalability. 
• Cloud Architecture and Implementation:
  • Leverage cloud-based data warehousing and data lake solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data storage and processing. 
  • Design and implement cloud-native data architectures for scalability and cost-efficiency. 
• Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data architects and data engineers. 
  • Lead data architecture reviews and ensure compliance with data governance policies. 
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Monitor data quality and performance metrics to identify and address data issues. 
  • Continuously optimize data pipelines and database structures for improved efficiency. 

Required Skills and Experience:

• Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional, star schema, snowflake) 
  • Expertise in database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in data integration tools (ETL/ELT) 
  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, GCP BigQuery) 
  • Familiarity with data quality tools and techniques 
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams 
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex data issues 
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical data architecture solutions 
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior team members 

-Develop a deep understanding of business domain knowledge

- Work across cross-functional partners to perform business analysis and translate into technical requirements.

- Create and implement precise management plans for every project, with attention to transparent communication at all levels.

- Collaborate with internal teams to identify business requirements, metrics, and KPIs

- Contribute to data architecture design.

- Identify and resolve data integrity issues

- Enforce the best practices in UX designs

-Develop frameworks to establish data governance and privacy compliance

- Work with stakeholders closely and deliver artifacts based on agile principles

- Design prototypes, recommend and build graphs to tell stakeholders’ stories effectively, and share business insights clearly

- Provide both verbal and written weekly status updates to all stakeholders

This role will require technical breadth and strong communication and judgment skills. You will need to understand both the business side and data engineering side of BI so that you can be effective

Minimum Qualifications

- 15+ years’ experience in data architecture principles, database technologies, and a deep understanding of industry best practices to optimize data management and scalability across the enterprise. 

- 15+ years in analytics and system development.

- High proficiency in SQL and database management.

- Experience in generating process documentation and reports.

- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.

- Knowledge of Azure SQL Database, Data Transformation,

- Strong time management skills

- Ability to deliver in a rapidly changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of process modeling

- Knowledge of continuous improvements

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related business/analytical discipline
