Job Description:

The Senior Compliance Manager will oversee and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and the company’s Compliance Program, including the implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures, training initiatives, and ethics reporting. This role is integral in fostering a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making across the Construction Division.

Key Responsibilities:

 1. Compliance Program Oversight:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain corporate and local compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with applicable laws and industry standards.
  • Be aware of emerging risks and regulatory changes.

2. Training and Awareness:

  • Coordinate and deliver compliance-related training for employees and third-party contractors.
  • Ensure all staff understand their responsibilities under the Compliance Program.

3. Ethics and Reporting:

  • Serve as the Construction Division’s representative for the company’s Ethics Channel to ensure timely investigation and resolution of reported issues.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and transparency by promoting ethical business practices.

4. Risk Management:

  • Participate in risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
  • Collaborate with internal audit and external regulators during compliance reviews or investigations.

5. Global Coordination:

  • Partner with the parent company’s Global Compliance team to ensure alignment with global standards.
  • Serve on the parent company’s global Compliance Network.
  • Provide guidance on compliance matters related to international operations.

6. Communication and Reporting:

  • Regularly report compliance activities and key metrics to the General Counsel and Global Director of Compliance.
  • Prepare and present updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

7. Other Responsibilities:

  • Support legal and operational teams during due diligence processes.
  • Advise on compliance implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant compliance experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of applicable global laws and regulations, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and whistleblower protection laws, particularly in the North America, South America, the UK and the EU.
  • Experience working in a global environment; foreign language skills are a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across various levels and functions within an organization.

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in compliance or ethics (e.g., CCEP, CCEP-I) is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Working Relationships:

  • Collaborates closely with legal, operational, and HR teams.
  • Interfaces with external regulatory bodies and industry associations as required.
