Team Summary

The Australia and New Zealand South Pacific Value-Added Services (VAS) Acceptance Sales & Solutions team is responsible for the short-term and long-term growth of merchant acceptance for Visa’s existing and new Digital products and services. The team achieves its success through working with and through its acquiring partners, key merchant partners and the technology firms driving innovation in the marketplace.
Within the team, the Cybersource business and the full Visa Payment Management Platform that Cybersource delivers for our clients is a key growth lever in AUNZSP. In such a competitive area of our network business, having a scheme agnostic asset such as Cybersource ensures we can grow diversified revenue pools for the business, compete with other global platforms and gateways, and deliver seller solutions to many players in payments. Bringing the specialised functions together under this Cybersource team – including sales, new business development, account management and technical and risk services – makes sense for our business.

What a Senior Business Development Manager at Cybersource does at Visa:

The Senior Sales Manager will be an integral part of our Visa Acceptance and Cybersource Solutions team in driving new business initiatives in New Zealand and will be responsible for driving expansion of our Value-Added Services Business. This is a field sales position within our growing New Zealand and will be responsible for targeting retailers, acquirers and service providers as well as other companies accepting payments to add them to our growing digital products portfolio. The Senior Sales Manager will work closely with other Visa teams to offer Visa products for checkout, processing, analytics, fraud, security and other digital solutions to the New Zealand market. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, with a sales background in solution-based selling, having strong payment technical skills that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. He or she must be a fast learner who can quickly absorb the nuances of complex, varied payment offerings.

  • Identify prospects, drive development, manage the sales process and close new businesses
  • Effectively lead revenue generation while meeting strategic business objectives
  • Design and execute strategic sales campaigns
  • Contribute to the strategic initiatives in NZ to become the leading processor/gateway across card present, ecommerce and omnichannel opportunities
  • Provide market expertise to properly identify, qualify, and drive new business initiatives
  • Meet and exceed challenging sales goals
  • Establish and expand relationships with large clients and prospects
  • Actively contribute to the evolving business and product strategy
  • Accountable for the completion and presentation of RFPs and RFIs for new business initiatives
  • Work closely with our Product Management team to maintain technical and functional knowledge of existing and new products
  • Travel may be required

Qualifications

  • Min of 8-10 years deep partnerships experience with a proven track record in driving strong business growth and mutually beneficial outcomes
  • B2B enterprise software or technology consultative sales experience with a proven track record in solution sales
  • Tech-savvy – Knowledge of payment commerce technologies, with experience in the eCommerce, merchant and the payment industries
  • Strong written and verbal communication and excellent presentation skills
  • Strong background with demonstrated success closing high volume business
  • Experience with managing longer sales cycles and driving multiple simultaneous opportunities to success
  • Highly adaptable with exposure gained working in fast-moving and agile environments
  • Strong network within the payments industry
  • Solid understanding of the NZ payments landscape
