We are looking for a motivated Sr. Business Controller (Finance Business Partner) in the Wood Supply Unit in Forest Division. This is a highly visible position and will provide the opportunity to partner with key business leaders and take ownership of key processes and grow together with the company. 

In Wood Supply we want to move beyond providing our mills with wood on-time and cost efficiently focus on providing value to Stora Enso via sustainable, and efficient operations as well as strong partnership with forest owners. This journey requires visibility and understanding of the underlying processes and numbers to be able to make right choices and be successful.

As the Sr. Business Controller in the Wood Supply, you will be an influential member of Wood Supply team across - Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Baltics in the journey towards becoming a strategically important unit. You will contribute as an important business partner and be responsible of developing efficient business controlling processes and management reporting. You will also have a strong focus on supply chain and operations controlling and commercial excellence.

As position holder you will report to VP, Business Controlling, Wood Supply and work closely with the Wood Supply Leadership across all North European markets. The position can be located in any of our Baltics locations, or (mostly) remotely with occasional travel.

As Sr. Business Controller, your main responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a Finance Business Partner, to provide strategic financial insights, analysis, and decision support to drive business performance, cost efficiency, and growth.
  • Prepare and present management reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management. Develop management reporting tools and KPI dashboards.
  • Analyze financial and operational data, large data sets, to find trends, cost savings, business opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
  • Follow the market and industry trends, participate in strategy work, provide industry reports and competitor analysis.
  • Lead and implement process improvements and automation to achieve better results.
  • Take a pivotal role and lead cross-functional projects (i.e. ERP implementations) and initiatives to improve financial processes and controls.

Who are we looking for?   

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar.
  • At least 5 years of relatable work experience, ideally with background in Banking, Consulting or Big Four.
  • Hands on experience in Financial Modeling, Data analytics and Data visualization. 
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
  • Fluent in English. Other Northern European languages will be considered a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills is a must. Any previous experience working with ERP systems, Data bases and Business intelligence tools will be considered as a plus.

In addition, you are highly energetic and driven person with outstanding work ethic. You enjoy challenging tasks, taking on new responsibilities and are a self-starter. You can communicate well, build strong relationships, and have commercial acumen. You can meet deadlines and work under pressure, and you have experience working in international setting with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
