We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chief Accountant to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, managing accounting processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, a thorough understanding of financial regulations, and experience in leading teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, tax regulations
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts, including bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, stock and assets management
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations and prepare tax filings
- Collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives and provide financial insights
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or finance roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in tax preparation and regulatory compliance
- Fluency in Latvian and English
