We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our Accounting & Finance team supporting the Montney business unit. As a trusted advisor to the business, you’ll work closely with business unit leaders to support, research and interpret the details of financial results, as well as act as the key resource for coordinating financial planning.
As a team member in our Financial Planning & Analysis group, you will act as a bridge between the finance team and the Montney business unit, providing both analytical expertise and collaborative support.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with business unit leaders and technical staff, as the key financial support within the Montney business unit.
- Lead the coordination and ensure accuracy of business unit budget and forecast inputs for production, capital and operating costs.
- Liaise with the commercial marketing, royalty and technical teams to forecast business unit netback and unlevered free cash flow.
- Work within the Financial Planning & Analysis group to ensure the accuracy of your business unit’s planning data between various systems.
- Support the finance group by providing actuals to budget variance analysis that is utilized in the monthly business unit management report.
- Assist the business unit in preparing for their monthly senior leadership meeting, including but not limited to analysis of current forecast to prior forecast and budget variances.
- Work with the development engineering team to provide support for long-range planning results that are used to support senior management presentations.
- Responsible for coordinating the well scorecard that is utilized in the monthly management report.
- Play a key resource for identifying financial trends and socializing forecast results within the business unit.
- Partner with various members in the finance and data analytics groups to identify and design process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- CPA designation required.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools, including knowledge of Power Query, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
- Ability to interpret and create corporate financial models based on an understanding of various multidisciplinary business drivers.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail combined with strategic thinking to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
