About your team

The Technology function provides services including the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, investment, compliance, finance, legal, digital, marketing and customer service functions. The broader technology organisation incorporates infrastructure services that the firm relies on to operate on a day-to-day basis including data centre, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation.

About your role
The Business Analyst works closely with internal business colleagues and external clients to discuss their information and business intelligence needs. After the appropriate data is collected, and the business requirements are refined, the Business Analyst then liaises with the systems analysts and development teams to develop solutions to meet these requirements. The Business Analyst is to foster confidence and respect from all stakeholders and develop a reputation as a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide business and systems analysis expertise to Fidelity business units.
  • Capture, clarify, and document business requirements using various analysis techniques and tools.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and solutioning workshops for business and technology stakeholders at all levels.
  • Rapidly assess and understand data sources and data flows through applications/systems to identify gaps and opportunities. Act as a liaison between business and tech teams to ensure data needs are being met.
  • Translate business requirements into system specifications and designs, including defining functional testing scenarios. Document business processes, data flows, and integration requirements logically and structurally using standard diagrammatic representations and repositories like Confluence.
  • Participate in creating system test plans and specifications.
  • Assist in resolving day-to-day business queries.
  • Drive end-to-end business process engineering and technical solutions. Identify opportunities to standardize processes.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, system stakeholders, support teams, and offshore development teams.
  • Work with third-party partners and suppliers to assess vendor solutions.
  • Understand fund business data model and associated system flows.
  • Act as both BA and Project Manager for smaller scale projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior colleagues in their analytical tasks.
  • Provide timely and accurate status updates to the Project Manager and Programme teams.
  • Monitor and improve current business/system analysis practices.
  • Stay updated on emerging products and industry standards in system analysis.
  • Act as a product expert by applying domain and end-user knowledge.
  • Provide production support for various business applications and processes.
  • Conduct training workshops in person or via conference facilities.

About you

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services & Business Analysis / Project Delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Investment Management, Mutual Funds, Hong Kong pension Administration and Investment Operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentations, and experience in stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to define and document functional requirements and solicit complex cross-team business requirements through organized workshops and sessions managed by you.
  • Knowledge of business change and stakeholder management. Proficiency in project management methodologies, agile, and general project delivery processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Visio, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), and Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
  • Fluent in written and verbal English; proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin preferred.
