Your Mission: Banza has been one of the fastest-growing pasta companies in the country for the last five years – and as we mature, we want that growth to accelerate! Banza has an exciting opportunity for a new brand management leader who will spearhead and coordinate efforts across our sales, field, product, operations, manufacturing, and finance teams to achieve the best possible business results. Success means improving our product positioning in the market to win versus the competition and bringing it to the people who will love it most. You’ll own the P&L, collaborate with sales on account management, and work with the executive team to shape strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build a great business at Banza, including management of our dry product line P&Ls and strategy setting for our product lines (pasta and mac & cheese)
  • Help execute our product line strategy throughout the year and lead the monitoring and coordination of how we’re tracking against our goals
  • Develop, maintain, expand, and communicate Banza’s strategy on how to grow our dry categories across key retailers, focusing on Distribution, Merchandising, Shelving, and Pricing 
  • Collaborate with sales on developing a plan by account that includes brand growth, expansion, and trade strategy
  • Dig deep into the data to understand trends in your categories and analyze the root causes of any impacts on sales
  • Own our product line profitability, understand customer-level and product-level dynamics and lead the discussions on how to enhance our financial performance
  • Identify opportunities across Product, Operations, Ecomm, and Manufacturing to improve the line’s overall performance, growth, consumer appeal, and profitability
  • Work closely with executive leadership and cross-functionally across the organization to drive growth and bring Banza to millions more people

Who You Are:

  • 7-10 years of work experience, including significant experience in CPG/food
  • Experience in a brand management role with P&L ownership
  • Experience/understanding of P&L dynamics, financial statements, and quantitative analysis
  • Entrepreneurial with experience scaling a rapidly growing business or product line – an analogous role at a successful CPG startup or a fast-growing line within a larger CPG is ideal
  • Cross-functional leader, experienced in operating within and across sales, category management, analytics, and product
  • Skilled in working with sales to win over retailers and execute to an ambitious plan
  • Able to both ruthlessly prioritize and amicably communicate
  • Able to sell a vision to those around you while being willing to change your mind when new information comes to light

Compensation: 

Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry. Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.  We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. The salary band for this role is $115,000 - $145,000. The range is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
