Job Overview:
Designs, develops, and implements project deliverables assigned by the Development Manager. Mentors Jr. Developers on both technical and business functionalities of systems within Sterling, ensuring that code delivered by themselves and by Jr Developers adhere to Sterling software engineering best practices and within agreed upon timeframes. Attends and participates in daily scrum calls, communicating achievements and roadblocks to the team to ensure success of projects delivered via agile methodologies. Works on production issues and user requests, with priority on high severity issues. Monitors changes and concerns on server and network infrastructures affecting applications, ensuring smooth and optimal systems operations.
Job Description:
Included are the following job responsibilities:
- End-to-end technical delivery of software that constitutes the cutting edge, cloud-based enterprise background screening software and its support systems
- Full technical design, programming and deployment work in a team environment as well as some minor technical support responsibilities as part of the post-deployment and operations phase
- Participating in product development sessions with business analysts and other stakeholders as part of the requirements and design phases
- Participating in the deployment phase with QA and other stakeholders to successfully release functionality into the production environment
- Meeting quality and dateline metrics for the delivery of software; working on more than a single development project at any given time may be expected
- Implement improvements and maintenance on existing applications
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge:
Proven track record of success, consisting of:
MUST HAVE
- 5 or more years of C# .NET application development experience.
- 5 or more years of experience with relational databases, particularly SQL Server.
- Minimum 2 years experience in AWS.
- Strong knowledge of WCF, REST, SOAP, HTTP standards required; Knowledge of JSON/XML data formats.
- Experience developing web applications with ASP.NET / MVC / WebAPI
- Strong HTML / CSS / Javascript
- Source control management experience with git
- Proven experience building automated CI/CD pipelines with relevant tooling (e.g., Jenkins / CodeDeploy / etc.)
- Knowledge of network protocols and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of data encryption protocols and approaches.
- Delivered products and solutions through full SDLC process.
- Excellent communication skills- ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written.
- Self-driven, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to multi-task, engage and coordinate with several groups.
- Be detail oriented and comfortable with considering design impact to multiple stakeholders.
- Analytical, problem solver, logical thinker with attention to detail.
- Inspirational and enjoy working with other developers on improving code quality.

- AWS Certification
- Single page application (SPA) design and development experience Documentation tools such as Visio, Confluence, Wiki.
- Testing frameworks / automation
Education:
- At least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
