As a Senior Analyst, FP&A International at Ciena, you will play a vital role in supporting our international financial planning and analysis activities. You will be responsible for providing accurate financial insights, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis to drive informed decision-making across our international operations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional financial acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with regional and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with regional finance teams to develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets for international operations. Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support strategic planning.
- Performance Measurement: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate business performance against targets. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
- Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting process for international operations, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives. Develop accurate financial forecasts, considering market trends, business drivers, and operational factors.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for international business units. Analyze financial results, identify areas of improvement, and provide recommendations to optimize performance.
- Business Partnership: Collaborate with regional finance teams, business leaders, and other stakeholders to understand their financial needs and provide support in decision-making processes. Act as a trusted advisor by offering insights and recommendations to drive financial performance.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline financial planning and analysis processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve efficiency. Implement best practices and leverage automation tools to drive process optimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certifications (CFA, CPA) are preferred but not compulsory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in an international setting.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling techniques.
- Proficient in financial analysis tools and software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Ability to work across time-zones.
