Linklaters Amsterdam is open for a Senior Advisor or Manager Business Development who is responsible for the overall direction of the business development strategy of the Corporate M&A and Finance teams in our Amsterdam office.

While you will principally provide local support to key stakeholders, including 8 Practice Heads in Amsterdam, you will work alongside the Corporate/M&A and Finance teams around the Linklaters network as part of a connected global product team, focused on creating collaboration and cross-selling opportunities with our priority clients in these product areas.

Your in-depth familiarity with these product areas will enable you to drive growth and focus on our strategically important clients via a broad range of BDM responsibilities, including pitching, product-specific business development, client targeting and data analysis, horizon scanning, opportunity development and market analysis.

You will work closely alongside colleagues supporting the Amsterdam office related to brand, marketing and profile raising who will assist you in creating compelling and tailored product led go-to-market campaigns to engage target clients.

You will also have access to a range of Centres of Excellence (‘COE’) who you will draw upon for various specialist expertise and support, including having access to BDM support via our specialist BDM Shared Services teams in Warsaw.

You will report directly to the Senior Business Development Manager M&A Europa, and 2 partners in Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and planning

  • Lead the creation and execution of growth-driven BD plans for Corporate and Finance practice business in Amsterdam.
  • Align local strategies with global objectives, maximizing the use of the firm's resources and Shared Services Centre.
  • Develop a robust global network within Corporate and Finance teams to maintain a strong connection to our international presence.

Product focused business development

  • Design targeted growth plans and facilitate cross-selling opportunities across product, sector, and client lines.
  • Enhance pitching processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, winning proposals and submissions.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and European/global support teams to craft impactful, customized brand campaigns for client engagement.

Market intelligence and opportunity development

  • Utilize data-driven insights for market analysis, opportunity identification, and efficient pipeline management.
  • Implement intelligence analytics to inform strategic BD initiatives and drive competitive advantage.

Technology, infrastructure, and data-led business development

  • Promote the effective use of BD technology and data to drive growth and informed decision-making.
  • Leverage Salesforce and MarTech infrastructure to deliver proactive, actionable product insights.
  • Support the adoption of Salesforce and other tools to enhance collaboration and alignment in Amsterdam.

Required experience, skills and characteristics

We are after someone who possesses the following professional experience:

  • 5+ years in a professional services environment with a strong BD, marketing, and communications record.
  • Expertise in Corporate/M&A and private equity markets, and deep understanding of the Dutch professional services market.
  • Proven ability to influence senior management and secure strategic project buy-in.
  • Skilled in creating detailed client pitches and documents under tight deadlines.
  • CRM proficiency for key client management.
  • Process development and implementation capability.

And who also proves themselves in the following characteristics and management skills:  

  • Ability to command respect and achieve buy-in from partners and teams.
  • Professional, consultative approach with quick relationship-building skills.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving initiative.
  • Ability to confidently manage expectations and advise at partner level.
  • Strong written communication for drafting high-quality documents.

Furthermore it is required that you hold a University Degree and have excellent Dutch and English language skills. Proficiency in French is an additional asset.

We offer an attractive gross monthly salary, depending on your experience. This also includes 8% holiday allowance and a 13th month. Additionally, Linklaters offers:
