Senior Accountant

Pay rate : $50/hr
Job Location: Dallas, TX 
Duration : 6+ Months 
Work type : 2 days a week Hybrid 
Top 3-5 Mandatory Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Account reconciliation experience
• Cash accounting knowledge

Top 3-5 Desirable Attributes/Qualifications:

• SAP experience
• Public accounting background
• Month-end close process experience

Required Levels/Years of Experience (Flexible):

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
• Minimum of 3+ years of comparable accounting experience
• Supervisory experience required

General Function:
Primary responsibilities include oversight of Capital Payables processing and Capital Project Accounting across all Client's brands, ensuring timely and accurate recording of fixed asset additions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of capital invoices, including use tax and construction retainer accruals.
• Track capital project statuses and completion dates.
• Ensure proper asset creation, including compliance with corporate capital policy, correct asset classification, and accurate depreciable life assignment.
• Support asset under construction balances and capital inventory.
• Collaborate with project managers to track bulk capital purchases and deployments.
• Perform monthly closing activities: capital accruals, depreciation accruals, operational vs. capital expense reclassifications, project settlements, and capitalized labor postings.
• Review expense accounts for mis-postings and troubleshoot discrepancies in fixtures inventory.
• Train and develop direct reports.
• Provide support to internal stakeholders and external entities (e.g., auditors, vendors).
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts in compliance with control deadlines.
• Assist with additional responsibilities and special projects as directed.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong accounting knowledge
• Understanding of automated & manual controls and segregation of duties
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
