BHS Corrugated North America is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team in our Charlotte, NC facility!
Job Description:
As a Senior Accountant with BHS, you will be responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, maintaining accurate product costing, and group consolidation BHSNA Group value streams. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 60% in-office work and up to 10% travel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Planning work to deliver accurate financial statements, narratives and supporting schedules monthly per closing schedules.
- Being responsible for month end close for multiple value streams, to include preparation and entry of journal entries, and ensure closing deadlines are met.
- Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts, with an accurate and appropriate supporting schedule produced by ERP system or with another type of supporting documentation.
- Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions.
- Coordinating and submitting with foreign entities’ accountants for timely financial reporting.
- Working in many accounting fields, including AR, AP, Fixed Assets, and Inventory.
- Accomplishing department objectives by organizing and monitoring work processes.
- Assisting with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Completing special analysis and projects as assigned by Finance Manager or VP Finance.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
- Preparing comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted costs and determine rationale for variances between budget and actual.
- Providing financial support to other departments as needed.
- Participating in annual audit process.
- Performing other related duties as assigned and contributing to process improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 4 to 7 years’ experience.
- Technical skills - Sound working knowledge of accounting principles and theory. Relevant experience with General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and team-based month-end close process.
- Computer skills - Excel, Word, Outlook. SAP, SAGE, Tagetik and Qlik experience a plus.
- Soft skills - Should have strong organizational and communication skills, team player but the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in-office up to 60% of the time.
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at a computer for up to eight (8) hours a day.
- Ability to stand for at least forty-five (45) minutes at a time.
- Ability to lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds at waist level.
- Must be able to work in-office up to 60% of the time.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
