Who are we hiring?

The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the operational accounting group supporting the day-to-day processes as well as the monthly and quarterly book close. This position provides on-going financial support around transactions related to the Company’s venues, including MSG, Radio City, and theaters. Responsibilities also include journal entries, account reconciliations, and support for the Director, Accounting.

What will you do?

· Manage the accounting for venue operations at MSG Venues, Including Day of Game activities and union/part-time labor. This includes booking and reviewing monthly journals.

· Assist with all the Company’s venues and office services leases.

· Consult with Technical Accounting to discuss changes in rates and accounting guidance for ASC 842, Leases.

· Ability to interpret new lease contracts and assess the fiscal impact to the Company.

· Provide timely and detailed monthly/quarterly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss account analysis, including substantiation of account balances.

· Consult with Venue Business Planning, Corporate Accounting, & Venue Operations leadership teams in order to stay current with on-going operations.

· Assist with requests from Tax, External Auditors, and Internal Auditors.

· Assist/recommend/improve company-wide utilization of financial systems to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

What do you need to succeed?

· Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Accounting/Finance, or related discipline)

· 2+ years of accomplished accounting experience, CPA preferred.

· Strong understanding of monthly closing processes

· Experience with and strong knowledge of GAAP rules.

· Ability to build strong relationships with all customers (internal and external).

· Ability to work both independently to trouble shoot and problem solve.

· Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.

· Ability to be a reliable team member, capable of effective collaboration to achieve our shared goals across teams and departments.

· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, tailoring the message based on the purpose, audience, and channel.

· Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear.

$75,000$100,000 USD
