The Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic General Ledger team. In this key role, you will help drive financial accuracy, enhance internal controls, and ensure compliance with GAAP. You will oversee critical accounting functions, including month-end close, cash management, and financial reporting, while also contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives.

Interesting Problems
- Manage and oversee daily and monthly accounting operations, including the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial records.
- Consolidate financial results and support the preparation of internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct expense trend analysis during month-end close, identifying key variances and providing insights to management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records, promoting alignment between accounting and business operations.
- Partner with the FP&A team to analyze budget-to-actual variances, ensuring proper period cut-off, expense classification, and GL coding.
- Review contracts and agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Assist in cash management functions, including bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity analysis.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, reviewing and approving vendor invoices to ensure accurate coding to the appropriate GL accounts and departments.
- Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Support external audits by preparing required documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordinating with auditors.
- Participate in and lead key accounting initiatives, such as the implementation of new accounting standards, system enhancements, and the development of management reporting tools.
About You
- 4–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS environment or public accounting.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate financial data, identify variances, resolve discrepancies, and provide meaningful business insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented, positive work culture.
- Adaptable, open-minded, and eager to embrace continuous learning and professional growth.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Google Docs, and the ability to quickly learn new accounting tools and systems.
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems strongly preferred.
- Experience with process improvement and automation to enhance accounting efficiency is a plus.

Compensation
Base Salary: $100,000 - $130,000. Within our pay range, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.
Cash Incentives: Cash incentives are also available.
Stock Options: The opportunity for ownership is an exciting part of Amperity’s total compensation package. Every employee at Amperity receives a new-hire equity grant, commensurate with the scope of their position.
