About the Opportunity
The Sales department at Driscoll’s is focused on executing go-to-market strategies that strengthen and grow our berry categories for customers. Our success in the berry industry is driven by the ability of our Sales and Account teams to collaborate cross-functionally across Demand Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Product Leadership, and Marketing. This approach optimizes revenue and product distribution in both supply and demand-driven markets.
A strong Senior Account Manager at Driscoll’s has a keen understanding of market dynamics and thrives in a fast-paced environment, executing short-range sales plans aligned with Driscoll’s internal strategies to ensure exceptional customer service and profitability. In this role, you will make strategic and timely decisions, demonstrating strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, from junior staff to C-Level executives. This role reports directly to the Sales Manager.
This role will report into the Sales Manager.
Responsibilities
What will be your focus?
For the 1st year, your focus will be:
- Developing a deep understanding of Driscoll’s mission, vision, and values, as well as DEMEA operations. You will follow an in-depth onboarding plan, attend international fairs (e.g., Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Fruit Attraction in Madrid), and build an internal network across all functions.
- Visiting our nurseries and growers to learn about the activities in our test plots in DEMEA, understanding the science behind our berry varieties, and gaining insights into innovative techniques, such as reduced water usage.
- Experiencing the unique dynamics of each season and understanding their impact on daily operations, challenges, and opportunities.
- Building strong relationships with your customers, understanding their operations, and establishing a reliable network.
- Familiarizing yourself with our internal systems, including ERP systems like DAX, Tableau for reporting, and Anaplan for forecasting.
In the 2nd year, we expect you to:
- Work more strategically by establishing a one-year outlook with Sales Management, Product Business Managers (PBMs), and customers through Aligned Business Planning.
- Collaborate with Sales Management and PBMs to meet customer volume and price targets, developing strategies to increase growth, enhance pricing, and reduce claim rates.
- Work cross-functionally to improve service delivery, such as optimizing supply chains or enhancing cold chain processes through internal and customer alignment.
- Strengthen collaboration with other departments to boost cooperation, knowledge sharing, and project success.
- Prepare for and lead seasonal customer meetings, ensuring productive re/previews of performance.

Candidate Profile

Proficient in using internal systems like Basic DAX, Salesforce, and other customer order platforms.

Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Adaptable to flexible work environments, whether in-office, virtual, or in-field.

Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5-10 years of successful agricultural sales experience, ideally within the berry sector.

Strong understanding of grocery retail pricing strategies, merchandising, and supply chain management.

Valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
