SUMMARY:
Senior 3D Technical Designer is responsible for implementing 3D Technical Builds and Virtual Fit functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Builds and Tracks styles on behalf of Technical and Design from conception to delivery to ensure it stays true to Design's vision.
- Responsible for implementation and expansion of 3D Software into the Technical Design process, when so requested.
- Researches and develops new ways to implement the software among new product type, brands. Work with the US and Asia counterpart in the expansion and growth of 3D into fit and Design and other offices. Pattern ownership and overseas vendor communication,
- Understand current Technical Design processes and responsibilities
- Have advanced understanding of 3D software (Browzwear Preferred)
- Reduce lead time to market and cost by reducing the number of samples required for approval to SMS and bulk production.
- Train key members from Overseas offices and Overseas Vendors (mainly) , Technical Design (as needed and/or requested by the US team), on the software's capabilities to positively impact the current production cycle
- Create styles in 3D to be used as templates for Design and CAD Services to make presentation boards
- Manage style creation in 3D to be consistent, controlled and meet a certain standard determined by Design, Technical Design, CAD Services and Merchandising.
- Communicate with various departments worldwide on 3D Procedures, standards and provide technical assistance and technical support
- Work closely with Overseas Vendors and Offices to maintain accuracy with fit and specs in 3D.
- Review fit samples on live/ mannequin forms to represent styles' fits accurately on 3D avatar and/or form
- Maintain consistent data between PLM and 3D Software
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Aide International 3D team to engineer new processes using 3D Software and standardizing processes among all Offices
- Understand and build in all categories (womens, mens, wovens, knits, tops, bottoms, ect.) with specializations.
- Aid Associate 3D Technical Designers in more complex pattern alterations
- Understand basic pattern manipulation and ability to modify existing pattern shapes to create new styles.
SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge of 3D Softwares: Browzwear (preferred), CLO3D, Optitex
- Advanced knowledge of one of a pattern making software; Gerber, Optitex, Tukatech, Lectra, ETCAD etc
- Advanced knowledge of 3D design CAD and simulation would be a plus: Rhino3d, Solidworks, Autocad, Maya, 3ds, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of Pattern drafting, grading, and fit corrections
- Skilled in creating technical specification packages with graded specs, construction standards, block patterns for apparel manufacturers
- Knowledge of apparel production process from idea/conception to sampling, through production cycle, delivery, domestic and overseas, and how it relates to other departments
- Intermediate knowledge of apparel construction, sample making and bulk production
- Knowledge of communicating digitally in call out photos, digital patterns in PLM
- Ability to analyze fittings and propose solutions to vendors
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to various apparel categories, brands, size ranges
- Skill and experience in working with computer software programs: Google, Microsoft Outlook, PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel
- Ability to organize time effectively, multitask and meet various, strict deadline dates, to maintain delivery dates
- Skilled in working as part of a team
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze fit, fabric in 3D Software to maximize the effectiveness and use with the Offices and Vendors

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Technical Design
- Advanced understanding of pattern making/Bottoms/Pants Preferred
- 8-10 years of experience in 3D Softwares: Browzwear (preferred), CLO3D, Optitex
- Knowledge of one of the pattern making; Gerber, Optitex, Tukatech, Lectra, ETCAD etc
- Ability to learn quickly, teach and travel overseas for extended periods
- Takes pride in your work and is passionate about learning, enhancing your skills, and open to learning new skills
