Job Functions

  • Plans sprints and prioritizes the sprint backlog

  • Helps identify and remove obstacles that hinder team performance

  • Collaborates with the Technical Leads to manage the development process

  • Helps the Product Owner refine and maintain the backlog

  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks such as detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders

  • Work with the Information Systems Manager and stakeholders to ensure project goals are in line with business objectives

  • Conduct kick-off to start the project and review the overall project plan and gain consensus

  • Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team

  • Manages changes to project scope, project schedule, and project costs

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.  This includes all Nissan business and external vendor activities as well

  • Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the organization.

  • Ensure that project goals are achieved.

  • Typically manages one or more projects / product teams that have:

    •  A development cost range of up to $999,999

    •  Have a team size of up to 10 members;

    •  A duration from 1 to 12 Months;

    •  A moderately aggressive timeline;

    •  A medium risk level assessment;

    •  An enterprise span of impact to an organization;

    •  Includes many interfaces;

    •  A geographic span of up to two regions;

    •  1 -5 functional Disciplines / Stakeholders;

    •  Use existing means (tools, technology) to achieve goals with modified levels of innovation

    •  Utilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

  • Routinely communicate up to Sr Manager and regionally regarding the status of specific projects

  • Drive project team to foresee risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, continuously assess and implement mitigations in order to minimize the impact of risks on the project.

  • Review project proposals or plans to develop a time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and the assignment of available departmental resources to various project phases

  • Basic understanding of project funding and financial principles including budgeting, accruals, actuals, and forecasting

  • As necessary, perform any other relevant duties across different functional areas across regionally and globally to aid in the success of the organization.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both written and in speaking in a manner appropriate for the intended audience in a culturally diverse environment

  • Ability to build trust and credibility with team and stakeholders by looking ahead with foresight, being accountable and being able to influence decisions and actions of the team.

  • Good understanding of current and emerging technologies, including cloud technology, and of how other enterprises are using them to drive digital business

  • Needs to have and display leadership, collaboration, conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to motivate and empower the team and promote a 'one team' culture across all teams involved.

Experience

  • 5+ Years overall IS/IT experience with at least

  • Preferred 3+ years' experience in Project Management and AGILE SCRUM

  • 3+ years experience in working with third party vendors.

  • Familiar with project management and time tracking software.  (JIRA experience a must)

  • Microsoft Office experience required, M365 and SAP financial tracking preferred

  • Prior experience working with offshore personnel is a plus.

  • Project management and AGILE SCRUM certifications a plus

Education

  • Bachelor of Science.

  • Advanced technical degree preferred
