We are looking for a research scientist with expertise in power electronics and power grid applications at our research center. Your Role

Innovating: Explore, develop, and techno-economically benchmark new technologies and concepts for power electronic system architectures, converter topologies, components, cooling, mechanical layout, and EMC design

Investigating: Develop innovative tools to perform industrial research in the area of multi-physics modeling and optimization for power electronic systems, focusing on new solutions for power grid applications

Taking initiative: Propose, contribute to, or lead interdisciplinary research projects together with our Hitachi Energy business units and research centers, external universities, and industrial partners

Connecting: Establish a network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise

Communicating: Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
Your Background
-
PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field with experience in power electronic systems
-
Strong programming skills and good understanding of the software development lifecycle

Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing prototype converters is a plus
-
Know-how in related integration topics such as cooling and mechanical integration, insulation, EMC considerations, as well as integration into the grid is a plus

Excellent communication skills in English, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity
