Position Overview: The scheduling expeditor is responsible for expediting sales orders delayed due to supply chain constraints, ensuring timely resolution of issues to meet customer commitments. This role serves as a key liaison between customer service, sales, planning, procurement, and operations to proactively address order delays. Additionally, the scheduling expeditor provides estimated completion dates (ETAs) for items in production, answers all scheduling-related inquiries, and acts as a backup to the scheduling team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and expedite sales orders impacted by supply chain disruptions, working cross-functionally to resolve bottlenecks.
- Communicate order status updates and issue resolutions to sales, customer service, and other stakeholders.
- Provide ETAs for items in production and ensure timely updates on scheduling changes.
- Answer all scheduling-related inquiries from internal teams, addressing concerns related to production timelines and capacity.
- Identify root causes of order delays and collaborate with supply chain teams to implement corrective actions.
- Support the scheduling team in planning and coordinating production schedules to optimize resource utilization.
- Assist in adjusting schedules based on material availability, capacity constraints, and priority changes.
- Maintain accurate records of expediting activities, scheduling adjustments, and production timelines in ERP and other relevant systems.
- Generate reports on order delays, expediting efforts, and scheduling performance to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a backup for planning functions, ensuring seamless operations during peak periods or absences.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in supply chain or customer service-related role
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills to effectively navigate cross-functional challenges
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience preferred
