The Scheduler Sr is responsible for ensuring that all scheduling processes take place in an accurate and timely manner with regard to pipeline and department cutoffs. This role will analyze data, monitor and reconcile imbalances, set up make-up/pay-back schedules with appropriate shippers, and initiate settlements. Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to cultivate positive relationships are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Nominates natural gas activity for Sequent, our assets and our customers by working closely with traders to optimize the movement of natural gas to our markets on the electronic bulletin board (EBB)

  • Accesses and accurately populates pipeline EBB for nominations and monitors pipeline conditions that may impact the flow of gas

  • Recommends market area supply alternatives, tracks storage injections, withdrawals and balances

  • Confirms daily and monthly nominations with counterparties and interconnecting pipelines

  • Updates energy trading and risk management system (ETRM) to support accounting in preparation of invoices and statements; assists in resolution of billing discrepancies

  • Communicates rate, tariff, fuel rate, and operational conditions to front office; contacts counterparties to verify their daily or monthly requirements

  • Communicates with customers and cultivates relationships with scheduling counterparts of counterparties and pipeline representatives to ensure operational integrity

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Engineering, or Economics; minimum five (5) years' experience in gas marketing company with proficient scheduling knowledge
  • Preferred: Master's or MBA; minimum seven (7) years' experience with a gas marketing company

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Available 24/7/365; Must be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Proficiency in multiple pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs)
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures for gas accounting
  • Sound knowledge of Endur pathing requirements
  • Knowledge of storage asset utilization, and LDC and Power generation markets
  • Strong understanding of regional and physical grid
  • In-depth knowledge of Daily live and G2 systems
  • Preferred: Gas accounting experience
  • Preferred: Detailed knowledge of US gas pipeline systems, major plays, and business
