Position Summary:
With general direction from a manger, the Salesforce Business Analyst is responsible for gathering requirements and leading implementations across various Salesforce Clouds, which often include custom development. Our solutions utilize in-depth technical aspects of all areas of the Salesforce platform, and require the highest quality implementations built for scale, efficiency, and great customer experience.
This role works closely with Sales, Legal & Finance business functions, along with other partner groups, to analyze and translate simple-to-complex business problems and needs into solutions, ensure requirements are understood and detailed, and ensure alignments are made with business and stakeholder partners and interact with internal technical resources, such as developers, architect’s, peer business analysts, scrum master’s, and project/program managers to ensure the delivery of key business and technical capabilities.
This role is a key “go-to” person that drives the partnership between internal partners and the Salesforce team to document and develop user stories and business process maps to aid in the design, development and implementation of the Salesforce platform. A strong understanding of Salesforce capabilities, limitations and data architecture is imperative in this role as processes are developed, refined or re-invented with Salesforce technology. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the Salesforce supporting system infrastructure, data and developing within the broader scope of this ecosystem
Primary Accountabilities:
Technical
- Gather technical requirements and document business processes aligned to Salesforce functionality
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis
- Translate requirements and business process into a business requirements document
- Write user stories that clearly articulate the overall business requirements
- Maintain user documentation up to date once release cycles (sprints) have been completed
- Consult with client stakeholders during key phases of the project (discovery, testing, deployment)
- Demonstrate ability to work without supervision and own projects from beginning to end with a team of technical staff; lead the agile development process for specific projects
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high level information into details
- Drive business demos on new builds working alongside the development team and platform managers
- Lead testing and sign off for Salesforce projects
- Communicate effectively with different levels within the organization as well as collaborate with cross-functional business partners and technical teams
- Develop, maintain and perform processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity in platform applications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Analytics, or a related field
- 4-6 years related work experience with a minimum of 2 years working with Salesforce.com; or any equivalent combination of training and experience required to complete the essential functions/job responsibilities of this position
- Salesforce Administrator Certification
- Salesforce Business Analyst Certification
- Some experience with APIs, Apex controllers, Apex Web Services, Apex callout, outbound messaging, and SFDC data loaders
- Some experience working in a Salesforce environment with CPQ (Salesforce or Apptus)
- Advanced Excel Skills (Macros, VBA)
- Familiar with Relational Databases such as Tableau, Alteryx or Demandtools
- Knowledge of Descriptive Statistics, Predictive Statistics Basics
- Basic knowledge of SQL and/or SSMS
- Working knowledge of BI software (Tableau, incorta, Qlik, Oracle, etc.)
- Intermediate Statistical & Data Analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management or Scrum Master certification
- Salesforce Dev 1 Certification
- Conga / Docusign or equivalent experience
