Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Sales Specialist – Intelligent Networks is an expert advisor on the Daisy Networking portfolio, supporting the Daisy Sales Team as a consultant for both new logo and existing clients. As a Sales Specialist you will be responsible for driving the growth of the Networking portfolio and other Daisy services, sourcing new business opportunities to sell to a target customer base in both private and public sector.
The role is predominantly customer facing, requiring ownership of, and an ability to develop, drive and execute all phases of the sales cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, the identification and qualification of opportunities, solution presentation, commercial negotiation, order processing, and working with PreSales colleagues to produce high level solution designs and quotes.
The candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and capable of prioritising workload based on the customer’s expectations whilst following internal governance demands of the business.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- To be a subject matter expert for Daisy Networking solutions, demonstrating product and industry credibility to customers and internal teams
- Support sales teams in orchestrating the elements of proposals, RFP/RFI responses and assist in generating Statements of Work (SoW) as the means to help customers realise the value of Daisy
- Lead / contribute to opportunity qualification for complex migration, transition and transformation projects.
- Work closely and cohesively as part of a cross functional team, ensuring realistic, innovative sound commercial and technical solutions to meet customer objectives and expectations in a timely manner.
- Lead commercial negotiations for professional services SoWs with Customers, with values typically between £50k - £500k.
- Produce effort, cost and price models to support proposals.
- Lead / contribute to partner selection and on boarding to support pre-sales and project efforts.
- Negotiate sales transactions
- Work with Sales teams, business transformation and marketing to proactively identify Networking sales opportunities in the Daisy account base and new accounts
- Understand customer business objectives and match these to relevant solutions
- Understand customer technical and commercial requirements, build and present solutions that meet these requirements
- Learn, understand and articulate Daisy’s value proposition
- Build strong internal relationships integral to facilitating a strong team environment
- Contribute to the development of the Daisy Networking proposition, working with the Head of Connect, Head of Cloud, other Sales Specialists, Product managers, Marketing, vendors and customer base
- Achieve relevant sales and vendor certifications
- Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required
- Be compliant with health and safety company policy and legislation
Qualifications
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE DONE ALREADY
- Significant experience in a consultative sales role within the Networking area
- Proven experience as a quota bearing sales contributor with demonstrable success at selling Intelligent Networks solutions.
- Candidates should be familiar with modern Network solutions - for example Extreme, Cisco / Meraki, Aruba, Juniper and other Managed LAN and WiFi solutions.
- Ability to articulate solution areas including Network observability / insights, Intent-based automation, identity-based segmentation, Secure Cloud Networking, firewall compliance, Packet level visibility etc.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of sales performance and a strong understanding of the UK Networking marketplace.
- Experience with key vendors in the UK and global Networking market
- Strong understanding of the market place, technologies and emerging trends in Intelligent Networks
- Experienced at presenting strategic solutions to C-Suite
- Ambitious, focused and goal orientated
- Flexible and able to adapt to change with a drive to self-improve
- Proven track record achieving sales targets
- Experience creating, managing, negotiating, and closing substantial Intelligent Network contracts
- Excellent communication skills ranging from persuasive skills on a one-to-one basis to presentation skills to groups
- ExhIbit an ability to learn quickly and pass this acquired knowledge on to others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ideally well versed in Microsoft Office and Salesforce
- Able to set goals and standards of performance in order to achieve short-, medium- and long-term objectives
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Supports colleagues and works to deliver for the team rather than the individual
- Exceptional numeric skills and a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrate key relationships with or an understanding of market leading vendors

What We Do
The Daisy Group was founded by current Chairman Matthew Riley in 2001. Over the last two decades Daisy has developed through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth to be one of the largest providers of communications, IT and cloud services across the UK and internationally. 2018 saw key change within the Group as four independent businesses were established to better serve the needs of direct customers and indirect partners.
