A DAY IN A LIFE
As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:
Key Account Management
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and key accounts, ensuring constant communication and updates on service performance and improvements.
- Conduct regular client reviews to assess satisfaction levels, gather feedback, and address concerns proactively.
- Develop detailed account plans, including short-term and long-term strategies, to maintain and expand relationships with major clients.
- Ensure consistent delivery of agreed-upon service levels, addressing deviations promptly to maintain trust and satisfaction.
- Benchmark client performance against industry standards to highlight the company’s value and justify growth opportunities.
- Analyze client-specific data to identify patterns, such as seasonal demand fluctuations or efficiency gaps, and propose actionable solutions.
- Act as a mentor and problem-solver for clients, offering advice and strategies to improve their logistics and supply chain operations.
- Organize regular client engagement activities, such as workshops, networking events, or facility tours, to strengthen relationships.
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Identify and analyze the business needs and goals of key accounts to position the company as a strategic partner.
- Explore opportunities to introduce new logistics solutions such as customized transportation plans (First mile to Last mile services) and other means in growing the Teleport services
- Collaborate with Internal teams to develop client-specific campaigns and presentations that align with account goals.
- Actively pursue opportunities to expand service offerings within key accounts, leveraging insights from operations and market trends.
Performance Management
- Establish and track clear, measurable sales targets for each account, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives.
- Prepare and deliver detailed sales forecasts, including potential risks and mitigation strategies, to senior management.
- Continuously review and refine the sales approach for each account based on performance data and feedback.
- Utilize CRM systems to maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales pipeline status, and performance outcomes.
Compliance and Sales Management
- Ensure all service agreements comply with industry regulations and client-specific requirements.
- Monitor contractual obligations and ensure timely renewal or renegotiation of terms as needed.
- Identify potential risks (e.g., supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes) that could impact key accounts and work with internal teams to mitigate them.
Internal & External Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with the operations team to monitor the execution of service agreements and troubleshoot operational challenges affecting key accounts.
- Act as the voice of the client within the organization, advocating for necessary process improvements or service enhancements.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure quick and effective resolution of client issues, minimizing service disruptions.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely billing and resolution of payment issues.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:
- 5–7 years of experience in sales or key account management, preferably within the logistics, supply chain, or solutions industries.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Experience managing high-value clients and developing long-term partnerships.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in analyzing sales and operational data to drive decision-making.
- Advanced skills in using CRM tools (e.g., PipeDrive, Google Studios) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI and other Tools)
- Strong ability to create customized pricing models and contracts.
