The position
The position Sales Engineer is open at HBK FiberSensing in Maia, Portugal, an HBK company specialized in the development and production of advanced monitoring systems based on optical Fiber Bragg Grating technology. HBK FiberSensing provides integrated solutions and world-leading expertise on Fiber Optic Sensing, with special focus on structural health monitoring.
We are looking for a technology-driven sales professional who can develop technical/commercial relationships with our clients worldwide by collaborating closely with HBK local offices. You will be joining a highly motivated sales support team in a dynamic and exciting workspace. We believe in teamwork, and we encourage each other to have open discussions and take ownership of our work. The role is based in our HBK FiberSensing office and allows freedom under responsibility to structure and plan your daily work. This role can be hybrid remote or onsite.
Primary responsibilities
As Sales Engineer, your main areas of responsibility will be:

Visiting potential/existing customers and generating enquiries through professional sales techniques using a consultative approach to get to customer concepts and demonstrating the unique strengths of working with HBK

Work with customers and internal sales engineers on large and complex project opportunities

Elaboration of complex and commercial proposals

Supervise large customer projects (internal project management)

Technical product presentations to customers and/or in conferences
-
Provide training to customers and internal teams (in-person or remote)

Travel activity around 1-2 months per year is expected
Professional qualifications
-
Master’s degree in Physics/Electronics/Civil/Mechanical Engineering or similar

Knowledge on Fiber Optic Sensing and Instrumentation is highly desired

Experience from a similar role is a plus

Knowledge of Sales support and Project Management tools (CRM, Jira…)

Good IT knowledge (MS Office tools)

Fluent in English both written and spoken
