Sales Engineers are responsible for satisfying the needs of prospective customers to maximise their experience with SOTI products. This includes providing technical support, generating revenue through new customer acquisition and add-on sales, partner enablement training, and following up on existing support cases as needed. This position demands maintaining a high level of customer service through all interactions as a SOTI representative and consistently engaging with the sales team to identify revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow revenue through consultative selling with clients and prospects.

  • Collaborate with the regional sales team consultatively with clients/stakeholders, helping them envision the possibilities of mobility.

  • Perform production demonstrations that articulate the business and technical value of SOTI solutions.

  • Educate and facilitate SOTI solutions that can effectively address both business and technical outcomes, positioning business value to decision-makers in customer organisations.

  • Present the solution architecture, including all technical aspects of the product and supporting systems.

  • Provide pre-sales technical support, installing and configuring enterprise software solutions during proofs of concept (POC) for prospective customers.

  • Communicate with internal product development teams to resolve product issues and generate recommendations for product roadmaps (feature requests).

  • Assist with the execution of internal team projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of work experience related to mobile device management solutions and enterprise mobility (Android, iOS, Linux, Windows), BYOD, SaaS.

  • Prior experience working in a technical customer-facing role, ideally as a pre-sales/sales engineer.

  • Knowledge of computer networking principles (DNS, IP networking, firewalls, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Application Management (IAM), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), and Identity Providers (IdP).

  • Knowledge of certificate authorities, certificate management and distribution, and encryption methodologies (SHA1/2, TLS, etc.).

  • Understanding of Active Directory, LDAP protocol, and identity management systems.

  • Understanding and experience with databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of technical programmes.

  • Understanding and/or knowledge of business processes and the sales cycle.

  • Understanding of containerisation and virtualisation.

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

  • Capable of planning, prioritising, and organising workload, consistently working within service standards and agreed objectives.

  • Must be a native Japanese speaker with strong English language skills.

  • Must have strong presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent.

  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) - Exchange or equivalent experience.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.

  • Android Enterprise Professional.

  • Any formal sales training (e.g., value selling, SPIN, Miller Heiman).

  • Understanding of REST APIs and coding (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, etc.).

  • Understanding or knowledge of cloud computing.

  • Experience with customer service/incident management software.

This position offers a flexible hybrid working model, allowing you to balance office collaboration with the convenience of working from home. In this hybrid role, you will work from our office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while Tuesdays and Thursdays will be designated remote workdays.
