About the Position: Sales Development Representative (San Jose, CA)

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for proactively seeking new business opportunities by educating and engaging with prospective inbound customers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, tenacious, confident, constantly curious who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and uses persistence and creativity to compel prospects to take the next step. You’ll collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales and Product teams to act as a subject matter expert on ZEDEDA and distributed edge orchestration and management. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days a week onsite in our downtown San Jose office.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on marketing leads to ensure they are processed in a timely manner and lead to pipeline creation.
  • Identify client needs, provide guidance and information around our products and services with the goal of high customer satisfaction and suggesting appropriate solutions effectively.
  • Set appointments for Account Executives and prospective clientsConsistently meet or exceed metrics set by leaders and managers.
  • Maintain accurate records and detailed analysis of all lead interactions within the CRM system, Hubspot.
  • Share feedback and collaborate with team members and managers to improve processes and best practices.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities for the company's products and/or services via telephone and email, often cold-calling leads to gauge interest and create opportunity.
  • Creatively find opportunities to engage prospects, using marketing events, industry insights, collateral, and executive availability.
  • Attend trade shows and support ZEDEDA’s booth presence, engaging prospects and booking follow up meetings
  • Stay up-to-date on ZEDEDA’s products and services, competitors and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • A high energy individual with a strong desire to achieve top results with a dependable, positive "can-do" attitude over the phone and in person
  • BS degree or equivalent amount of experience or equivalent military experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years as an SDR or Business Development Representative, Inside Sales Rep or similar role with experience in inbound and outbound calls and inquiries is a must. 
  • Ideal candidates will have worked as a SDR at a startup or mid-size company selling software to large enterprises in the security, networking, or virtualization spaces.
  • Track record of achieving and/or exceeding sales quotas at an enterprise software company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey ideas and solutions.
  • Self-driven, highly organized, coachable, and able to manage tasks autonomously in a team environment.
  • Resilient and persistent with a competitive mindset and a passion for achieving goals.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts, possess enthusiasm for technology and to articulate clearly to all levels of technical aptitude
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. HubSpot), Outreach.

ZEDEDA’s main compensation philosophy is to provide you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop with the company. The base pay range, dependent on your skills, qualifications, experience and location for this role is targeted at $80,000 plus a 30% MBO variable and will also include equity and benefits components to round out your total compensation.
