About the Job
As the Revenue Recognition Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in revenue accounting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role reports to the Controller and offers opportunities for professional growth and development within our Finance Team.
KPI’s:
· Timely and accurate monthly financial reporting, month end close activities.
· Compliance with accounting rules such as US GAAP & local GAAP.
· Completing the annual audit within the specified timeframe.
· Control and monitoring of revenue accounting across all channels in Mexico
· Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition, US GAAP matching principle measuring dilution, discounts, special programs.
· Control and managing commercial accruals linked to commercial programs
· Maintaining zero compliance violations through continuous monitoring and training.
· Business partnering with Controlling, Finance, Commercial and OTC teams.
Key Responsibilities:
· Revenue recognition across all the channels: Wholesale, DTC, Distributors, Ecomm and Interco
· Monthly dilution calculation based on actual commercial agreements, Fill rate, Franchise returns and discounts.
· Special programs dilution calculation and follow-up with FP&A and Commercial team
· Mapping and control processes of Retail Accounting, that includes revenue, inventory, COGS and Opex impact.
· Review of revenue monthly accruals and reports, such as:
· SNB with OTC
· BNS with Distribution Center
· Bill in transit with revenue recognition team
· Pending claims with OTC
· Partnering with Commercial team in order to identify commercial programs, quantify and recognize properly in accounting
· Partnering with Finance and OTC team to measure revenue impacts coming from credit notes, billing exceptions, claims, etc.
About You
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
· Master is a plus (MBA, Tax, Finance)
Experience:
· +7 years of professional experience in a Multi-National Corporation and/or Consulting Firms (Tax department / Big 4).
· Self-starter with an ability to multi-task.
· Proven experience in accounting and financial management, ideally in a supervisory role.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and audit processes.
· Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferably) and Microsoft Excel.
· Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
· Integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
· Fluent in English, written and spoken.
