About the team .
We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced & motivated Category Manager to join our Retail team, located in Melbourne.
Reporting into the Head of Category, this role will see you develop and drive elevated business growth conversations, fuelled by highly specialised category capabilities. You will lead the strategy & execution of category leadership initiatives with our customers and across the broader McCain business.

Lead category strategy for the relevant portfolios across ANZ:
- Lead and maintain relevant Category vision and 3-year strategy across ANZ - utilising macro trends, occasions framework, consumer insights & shopper insights to formulate category growth drivers, quantify sources of growth & profitability mix recommendations.
Internal Planning:
- Lead the AOC planning process, by setting category strategy that ultimately drives/influences brand strategy, private label strategy, innovation, & sales strategy
- Conduct regular category performance reviews/deep dives to drive insights & recommendations into monthly IBP operating rhythm, portfolio management reviews & pipeline reviews
Retailer Engagement & Planning:
- Represent the consumer and shopper, utilising insights & trend analysis to drive elevated category conversations (insights into propositions into strategic selling) that lead the thinking and execution of our customers
- Build powerful & collaborative retailer relationships, leading the operational rhythm for regular retailer engagement to support alignment to category strategies, ranging, pricing and testing future opportunities

About You .
Qualifications: • 5+ years' experience leading category management processes preferable within Retail, paired with experience in range, space, price, promotional & mix optimisation • Ideally Degree qualified in a relevant field i.e. Business/Marketing
Skills: • A highly developed understanding of the leading established retailers & emerging environments• Highly skilled in influencing without authority & building collaborative partnerships across internal & external stakeholders• Demonstrated success in growing the size of categories, improving profitability & unlocking three way wins with retailers• Ability & proven experience in acting as a thought leader; strategic thinker to partner with stakeholders across a range of levels and organisations
