What you will be doing
The Research Associate leverages big data, centralized sources and core research to build and validate numbers in a standardized, transparent and efficient way.
Duties & Responsibilities :
• Understands input data, further developing it, to ensure all centralized secondary sources are well covered
• Uses a mixed-methodology approach - including in-house data, relevant tools, external sources, and interviews - to effectively build data estimates
• Plans, sets up and develops supporting materials for projects
• Identifies key research sources, conducts interviews with trade sources and gathers inputs from both in-house and external sources
• Analyses various large datasets and manipulates them as needed to create meaningful category/country trends, as well as monitoring, reviewing, and cleaning up data for internal and external stakeholders, while maintaining records and resolving quality issues
• Runs quality control and provide detailed explanations on sources and data triangulation and the why behind the numbers
• Assist in overseeing the daily management of in-country analysts as needed, including communication, scheduling, payment administration, and project material upkeep that allows for team accessibility
• Curiosity with a passion for learning, problem-solving, and making a difference combined with flexibility, the ability to embrace diversity and be adaptable to change
• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communicator with good listening skills and an openness to new ideas
• Team player with a collaborative and transparent approach, capable of working in a global environment
• Proficiency in English (with other languages an advantage), combined with a high level of numeracy and the confidence to engage trade sources for additional insights
• Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel, with experience of tools such as Power BI and Tableau
