Job Description
Broad Function and Purpose of Position:
The Resale Buyer has multi-site responsibility for supply planning and execution, and inventory management. The Resale Buyer will purchase trading products to support forecasted sales volumes while maintaining targeted inventory levels. Collaborate daily with internal and external customers to ensure all goals are exceeded. A primary responsibility for this role is to coordinate planning and procurement activities across the network of sales groups to ensure the optimum usage of resources to execute supply plans while maximizing efficiency and achieving targets.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Purchase trading products in accordance with defined procedures.
- Maintain trading product inventory to ensure optimal inventory availability to support demand forecasts.
- Maintain accurate master data to drive efficient purchasing processes and inventory management.
- Communicate to Corporate Procurement changes in pricing, lead times, or other issues impacting purchasing Master Data.
- Generate and monitor open purchase orders and follow up on any past due or delayed receipts with the supplier or receiving department.
- Communicate and escalate supplier issues to the Procurement department.
- Utilize forecasting tool to provide meaningful insights and recommendations in regard to forecast changes.
- Monitor and manage slow-moving and expired inventory.
- Participate in SI&OP meetings
- Maintains SAP Planning Master Data to ensure efficient planning processes
- Coordinate and participate with the local management team to communicate issues, solutions to meet budget, and operational goals and objectives
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Shipping and Receiving staff to ensure efficient and on time movement of materials through the plant.
- Develop and grow cross-functional relationships with internal and external partners.
- Fulfill other duties as determined by the Director of Supply Chain.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Experience:
- Education: BA/BS in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years Supply Chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including planning and buying.
- APICS certification a plus.
