Job Description:
We’re looking for a Release (DevOps) Engineer to join our Release Engineering team in Information Systems team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to:
- Develop and sustain a delivery model for teams at Manulife that ensures quick, secure, and high-quality production deployments. Regularly engage with IT stakeholders to assess continuous delivery, code security, and environment health.
- Stay updated with DevSecOps best practices, identify industry trends, troubleshoot DevSecOps, web application, and network service issues, and promote best practices to enhance developer productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a sustainable delivery model that enables teams to consistently deploy solutions to Production with increased speed, enhanced security, and superior quality.
- Keep up to date with DevSecOps best practices and identify trends to improve the software engineering experience at Manulife.
- Engage IT stakeholders regularly to review the state of continuous delivery (CI\CD), code security and environment health
- Diagnose, resolve problems in DevSecOps pipelines, high-throughput web applications & network services
- Help to develop, evangelize and rollout DevSecOps best practice principles with a focus on improving developer productivity
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree holders.
- Experience: Has at least one to two years of relevant work experience
- Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation). We follow the Canadian Business Unit holiday.
- Minimum Skills to Hire/Must Haves:
- Successful in rolling out solutions to improve developer productivity.
- Has a working knowledge of one or more; Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, TeamCity.
- Experienced in migrating traditional client/server technologies to a Platform as a Service model.
- Has a DevOps engineering skills and working knowledge of one or more: Python, JavaScript, Perl, YAML, Maven, Gradle, Terraform, Chef, Puppet.
