CyrusOne’s Regional EHS Specialist roles are key positions within our organization. These roles will report to EHS Manager with regional presence, as well as deep knowledge in electrical safety or risk assessment, industrial hygiene, fire or program development, risk management, management of change, analytics and report development.
The successful candidate will focus on supporting the implementation, continuous improvements, and on-going efforts of the Operations and Construction organizations to ensure local and federal compliance obligations. They will work directly with the Operations teams, Construction teams within their designated region and provide technical support, guidance and resources that will enable EHS success at each site. These positions will perform project management tasks and work closely with EHS Leadership to drive consistency where appropriate and identify opportunities for improvements. They will be a key resource in not only identifying EHS gaps, but more importantly working with the teams to identify, develop and implement effective and efficient solutions. This role may also support EHS aspects of commissioning process and the hand-off from construction to operations.
As part of the Regional EHS Specialist roles, we are seeking safety professionals that have deep expertise in
• electrical safety, or
• fire systems and processes, industrial hygiene, emergency response, or
• risk management, management of change processes, program development and implementation, analytics and reporting
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with Critical Operations and Construction to implement effective processes to address high-risk activities including, but not limited to electrical safety, lockout/tagout, fall protection and contractor management.
- Implementing environment, health and safety procedures and ensuring compliance within their region with applicable EHS requirements.
- Assisting sites with risk mitigation associated with multi-employer worksites.
- Analyzing performance metrics.
- Creating content and providing EHS training on various topics covered under 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926.
- Leading incident investigations utilizing effective root cause analysis tools and overseeing the implementation of correction actions.
- Developing lessons learned from incident investigations and communicating across the company.
- Assisting teams with identifying and implementing performance improvements.
- Reviewing and approving MOPs with regards to safety (high risk activities) and attending CAB meetings as needed.
- Leading strategic EHS initiative within their region and providing portfolio wide expertise as needed.
- Conducting site assessment to evaluate compliance with regulations and conformance.
- Collaborate with construction, operations, and safety teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Electrical Safety, Mechanical Systems or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety and/or operations or construction in critical environments; ideally data centers.
- Experience with electrical safety and working knowledge of NFPA 70E.
- Willingness to complete appropriate OSHA and NFPA training.
- Data center or critical operations experience.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Office 365.
- Ability to adapt to various technology tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information:
- Travel within the US will be required, up to 25%.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate site needs.
